International Mevlana Chess Festival is going to be held in Konya between 19-28 September 2007. Governorship of Konya and Turkish Chess Federation are the main sponsors of the event. You can check the regulations from the link below. The total prize fund is 15,000 USD.

Mevlânâ Celâleddîn Rûmî (in Turkey known as "Mevlânâ", in the international literature mostly referred as "Rumi") was a 13th century Muslim poet, jurist and theologian. The year 2007, which is 800th Anniversary of the Birth of Rumi is claimed as the "International Rumi Year" by UNESCO.
